HaloShield^® works by binding chlorine molecules to textiles. Research demonstrates that 99.9 percent of odor-causing bacteria and stain-causing molds are addressed within five minutes to an hour after they come in contact with a surface treated with activated HaloShield. Textiles incorporating HaloShield technology are activated when laundered with an EPA-registered chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite). Odor-causing bacteria and stain-causing molds are tackled as they come into contact with the activated textile, providing unmatched product protection. Over time, the chlorine bound to the fabric naturally dissipates, but it can be recharged easily by laundering with chlorine bleach. This recharges the material so that it is once again ready for use.
